Hi Everyone

Welcome to BYC!
Pretty birds and gorgeous scenery! I'm stuck in the suburbs for now, but one of these days we'll be moving to a piece of acreage where we can have horses again, and maybe some goats, and of course more chickens! I don't know if you can plan on staying settled with just 5 chickens... that number may grow eventually... they're pretty addictive!

Here's a few articles that may help give some insight about your rooster...
Keeping A Rooster (my favorite fun story)
The Ever Misunderstood Rooster
Dealing with Roosters Roo Behavior

Oh, and a diagram to show you how chicken math works

Best wishes with your flock!

Thank you VERY MUCH!! I've just read the link 'Dealing with roosters roo behavior and today is the day I will be more interactive with Rodger!! Now where are my gloves? ;) :D

Thank you very much. Yes, I'm very blessed where I live!
I'll share my natural AC with you anytime!! Right now, before sunrise it's right at 17°... You're welcome!;)
Aloha + heat= Hawaii??
We're also a small private beagle and basset rescue, as well as a horse rescue and now a chicken rescue! Almost all my chickens came to me that way!!
Thank you so much for the links I'll definitely be reading those so I can help my Rodger!! He needs all the help he can get.... Me too! :lau
Definitely be seeing you around and thanks again for the links. :ya
Wow 17 degrees... I'm cured. tee hee!
We have 2 rescue cats (but who doesn't right?), 2 H.S. dogs and two young geldings (4 & 5yo). They are certainly all I can handle at the moment though I am known to be a temp mom now at then.
The rescue theme is awesome and great use of your space IMO :D. Sounds like a dream and I'd love to see photos of the rest of your furry family. Check out the forums when you can, most chickens owners have other babies they gush over.

:love:love:love:love:love:love:love:love:love:love:love:love:love:love:love:love:love:love:love:love:love Perfectly beautiful, like a big hug!!!! I'm so glad we have thoughtful, caring and dedicated people like you folks, who are helping those who can not help themselves and that end up in sticky and hurtful places through no fault of their own. Do you ever find homes for them? You just keep getting adopted by fuzzies? :D
