Hi there! I came across BYC while I was preparing to get my first flock and build my coop. It's been 7months an I have already built my coop and the run, raised my 9 girls from chicks and then promptly had the city tell me I couldn't have them anymore and that it would be a $500 codes fine if I didn't get rid of them in 10 days

FYI Ogden Utah is not chicken friendly at all! Some lucky and smart souls do keep good coops. But if the codes ppl like sending their ppl down your alley way chances are you will get a notice

I am currently talking to a bunch of local folks about starting a petition and working on a proposed ordinance. If ya'll got advice on that it would be greatly appreciated.

That would be a very hard decision to keep them or not! I would keep them! Good luck
I hope everything works out in your favor!
