Hi! Please allow me to introduce myself, Annie
1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes, thse are my first chickens and I got them 2 weeks ago.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
6 pullets (hopefully!!)
(3) What breeds do you have? 2 white leghorn (3.5 weeks old) and then 2 ISA brown and 2 black Australorps (all 2 weeks old)
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? They are fun, seeing their personalities come out. I'm looking forward to the eggs someday.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Small garden, making our own maple syrup, brewing our own beer.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I work part time and have 4 kids, 13 down to 5. Usually we are really involved in sports but not so much right now with COVID self-isolation. Other pets: Betta fish and frog.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Found BYC years ago when I started to think and research about having backyard chickens, joined for help with learning to care for them, and for coop design ideas.
I will search the forum for more ideas, but looking for help on creating a coop using a children's plastic little tikes play house as a starting point. Any links or tutorials are welcome! Thanks!
