Hi from an old fool in Spain

OK, Victoria, it is totally unfair. You have written a wonderful light enjoyable book and totally made me want to come see Spain. My husband and I have been talking about it off and on for a long time. We lived in Mexico for 3 years a long time ago and have visited a few times since then. We had an exchange student from Barcelona. Ever since, a trip to Spain has been an occasional topic. DH is reading the book now and I wonder how long it will be before he mentions a trip to Spain! I admire the hard work you have done and what you have accomplished. By the way, what ever happened to your hubby's book?

Hi Jen,

You'd love Spain, it's so vibrant and the people are so friendly. Thanks for the compliments.

Joe's book? I'm afraid it's still in his head. We discuss it at length but he's never actually written more than a chapter before deleting it and starting again...

No, it falls mainly on us. Sometimes a black rain-filled cloud just kind of hovers over us. We can see down the valley right to the sea, and it's clear. But it's raining on us. Mountain weather, it just does as it pleases. No point looking at the weather forecast.

How's the weather in Arkansas?

Welcome from Indiana, Victoria.

I am anxious to get your book as well!

My husband and I are hatching out Penedesenca chicks (chickens originally from Spain)! We hope to have some lovely dark eggs in a few months.

Oh, please show us a photo of the chicks! I have no idea what they look like. I don't know what breeds our chickens are, they are just brown ones, 2 beautiful grey and 2 white. Cocky (see My Page) was utterly beautiful but I don't know what breed he was either.

Hi Victoria, we have had an extremely wet summer and fall. Here in southeast Arkansas, with no where for the rain to go, week before last it rained 6 inches. The creeks and bayous are already full, and the water just sits in the fields. I am afraid there will be a lot of farmers who don't make it this year. We have had sunny weather the last week and a half, but it is already too late for a lot of the farmers.
