Hi! I'm so excited to finally be here - we've been talking about adding chickens to our family for... well... ever, but thought it wasn't possible because we live in town. But after some careful research we discovered that there are no restrictions except for roosters! So we bought our first four little girls from the local farm store; my husband is building them an awesome coop, and we have someone coming out Friday to price a privacy fence What's the old saying? Good fences make great neighbors. Chickens are allowed, but the less attention the better - we live between a grade school and a middle school, with a private 3 blocks away.

Heading over to the "what breed" forum now because I'm thinking strongly that one of our chickies was mislabled

Welcome it's great to have you! Just like my son and talked about getting chickens when we first moved into our home, the first store we went too gave us bad info and we knew it so we took our time 2 years to prepare and research and now we have a total of nine. Good luck with everything.
