Hi yall from CT, Im getting 4 red stars within a couple of days from a feed store (started pullets) Please I hope I have restraint and dont come home with 12!!! My gf will kill me lol,,,,,,, So excited to get this chicken show on the road!!! Any info will be helpful!! I ve had chickens for years in the past but not in the pastg few years..whats should I expect?! Any advice

Hi everyone!!! Im excited , nice to meet everyone!!, they say Ct has the largest population of chickens (i think i read that somewere) and for such a farming state It took forever to find chickens.....its like I was looking for a hen that lays golden eggs lol!! I there long Island!!!
 
Thanks MMk, and drmstk , SUMI- i did the chick thing a few times ....so over it....maybe once i get bored i will i have a little giant still air incubator used it once with 30 eggs and 30 hatched from my old barred rocks with a rir roo...little did i know i was creating a sex link.....and the best part was i was 24 girls!! sold most of them..that was like 5 years ago... I didnt eben know about the hybred then lol
 
I also was given 22% protien starter is this ok to give them when i get them this week....its only a 25 lb bag so it should only last a couple of weeks?...I asked the feed store lady for layer crumble ...got home looked at the bag and it was blue seal STARTER.... lol...leave it to my luck..it does have calcium in it....
