Welcome to BYC. I have cats and dogs. Some of my dogs can be trusted around my chickens but one cannot. I have a fenced and cross fenced area that the chickens can go into qhen out of their runs. The cats have never bothered even the tiniest of chicks that are with their mothers. I wouldn't trust them around newly hatched ones without a mother hen.
