Hi Debbie. the theives were the next door neighbors, a rental home. they have moved away, and we have a good neighbor now. I have a more secure area now, and will have cameras on the property now. I also have a German Shephard to guard the girls. It is good to be getting back into the chicken world. I missed it. the babies are already getting into my hand and becoming friendly.

Hello BYC friends.
Mixen is living at a nice farm and doing great. We had 4 hens, but when our eggs were stolen every night, we gave them to our daughter.
Fast forward, I just got 11 baby chick's. All doing well so far. They are now 5 days old. Getting started all over again.

It's too bad you didn't know then what you know now as they certainly were "varments" and could have been given a couple of tickets for trespassing and theft. Dividing that cost by a dozen eggs probably would have wound up costing them $50 per egg.

At least they're gone now though!

We have our chicken coop put together. I'm getting a roll out nest box for the end

Hi DobieLover. The info said it was for 12 birds. I am getting a roll away nest box that will go on the outside. This adds extra room on the inside. There are 3 roosting bars on the inside. The run is 12 x 20. I haven't measured the inside. Hope this works.
