the problem with the bylaw is that we fall under the old county's rules, not the post amalgamation rules, so nobody really knows what's going on... except for this guy. Like i said, he was incredibly helpful, sent me maps of the whole area with all the zoning and copies of the bylaws in place, and translated those bylaws into an understandable format, lol.

I totally wanted to go ahead without getting the ok, but didn't want to fall in love with my flock only to be told i must give them up... but i support your decision to do so!

I had also been in contact with Quinte West Let Me Keep My Chickens (they have a FB page) and they did an awesome job at guiding me and suggesting different routes to achieve my goal. It's too bad they are banned in Belleville though, wish i could help fight it!
