Hi. We live in West Cork, Ireland and have a nice big garden for our 6 new hens about five months old. We have kept chickens on and off for the past 9 years. Hopefully these new girls will provide lots of eggs over the next few years.
The main problem in the west of Ireland is the rain!! We provide a covered area for the girls, but it's important to find hardy hens to cope with the wet. Another problem can be the general quality of birds. There are plenty of unscrupulous characters around and we need to assess new additions carefully.
We look forward to chatting with our worldwide feathered community and would like to offer advice if we can.
