Hi - I'm really not at all sure how it happened, but all of a sudden we decided to get a few chickens and next thing I know I'm stalking BYC instead of working! So, we're in the process of building our coop (thanks to all your designs, this site is amazing) and in two weeks I should be bringing my 8 new chicks home. Just wanted to say thanks for the incredible info you've all posted!

My family had a nice place in Montauk on Long Island for years--I spent many summers there. I should say that I stilled lived in NYC at the time but now as you can see I am on the west coast. Fond memories of the place

Chickerdoodle - I grew up in East Hampton, but now I'm in Calverton (just at the beginning of the North Fork if you don't know). Loved growing up there, but definitely happy to be out of the craziness of the hamptons!!

Montauk is beautiful though... How's the West Coast treating you??
