Hi from NC!:)

Welcome! That sounds just like my first flock, minus the rooster. Our second flock, we got a rooster that was, unexpected. The rooster was cool at first and we liked the prospect of having our own chicks. Soon our rooster got SUPER aggressive. I mean my wife was using a garage can as a shield and it attacked my 16 year old son and then myself. After punting him several times and trying to establish dominance, we had to end that. I hope your rooster goes better for for you.
Having chickens is great fun and nothing is better than fresh, free range eggs.
This is a fantastic site to get good advice from really experienced people.
