hello for Rochester, NH!!! great to meet another chicken person from the same state and area!

i've been worried about the temp dropping in our area too lately. though mine have been moved up to the garage into a winter coop section we recently made. (the remote digital thermometer i have in there says it is 49 degrees at the moment. it got down to 43 last night.) i have a pen built in my basement as a temporary area when i am housing a sick or new bird.

if you are looking for any more chickens to add to your new flock or just local advise check out the Swaps & Shows section for those happening in NH. there are lots going on in the early spring at the Tractor Supply Company stores usually on Saturdays, sometimes at other locations on Sundays. we still have a couple going on this month-Hooksett and Plaistow this coming weekend.

If where your keeping them is concrete, give them a flat board to sleep on .The concrete gets real cold. A board will keep them off of the concrete & they can squat over their feet & keep their toes warm.
