Hi from North GA!

Well I spent an entire year in Georgia, and the cat only brought home one alligator(it latched on to a dogs nose for a small giggle) we were in Augusta. We only went to the northern part of the state for auto parts for my 1980 toyota pickup from those stone mountain rock crawler folks.

Now for something relevant.... if that gap in the roofline opens into your coop please consider adding some hardware cloth in there to keep the coons out. Also that appears to be the majority of ventilation as well and should be fine but just a bit on the low end for ventilation. I don't use egg boxes but I do hunt easter eggs on a daily basis as part of my alzheimers prophylaxis.

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you include your general location on your profile, this will assist others. Location, climate, season etc can be important factors when members are responding to any questions you may have and vice versa.

You might want to also Find Your State Thread and pop in and say hello.

BYC has a Learning Centre and also Topic of the Week discussions which I have found to be a great resource, informative and sometimes entertaining; so definitely worth checking out.

If you would like to share more Pictures and Stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)

Best wishes and good luck!

Hard to tell, but the roof is entirely enclosed in hardware cloth for ventilation. Two sides have small vented windows too (I could make them bigger), and the run door will be open every day. I'll be adding an external next box to the back too.
