Hello! from another chicken nut in N. Texas. We've had chickens for a little over a year now. Our first ones didn't do well. We actually think they had some sort of illness. However, we now have 3 hens who produce incredibly well. One is a Rhode Island Red, a New Hampshire Red and the third is an Old English bantam. This spring we bought three gorgeous chicks. One turned out to be a roo (we were very sad, cause he was beautiful), but the seller took him back for us. The other two are an Ameracauna and a Barred Rock. These two are 15 weeks old and should soon start producing. Good luck with your chicken endeavor. Our whole family loves it!
