Hi, I've been lurking for a little while- a few friends with chickens recommended this place. Lots of great info! I'm looking forward to meeting people here and learning more about chickens. I have a rooster (Buff Cochin) & 4 hens (RIR, Barred Rock, Columbian Wyandotte). We got them 2 months ago, and 3 out of the 4 hens are now laying. Every egg is like a little gift! They're all 7 months old. Our family is really enjoying them. I'd like to add to the flock, maybe hatch some eggs (DH is building me an incubator). How old should the new chickens be when they join the others? Also, can batams live with standard-size chickens? TIA.
