We are just getting started on our little farm. I haven't even ordered our chicks yet! I am hoping to be super prepared after reading up on this site. We do have goats, a multitude of cats, and a couple of dogs. I thank you guys in advance for the knowledge

The Rouge is a beautiful river. We drive past when visiting my in-law's monthly. We saw lot's of bald eagle's on our jet boat tour as well!

What kind of chickens are ya thinking about getting? Goats are a ton of fun! As are the others you mention. Sounds like you will fit right in here.

I am thinking of about 10 chickens. 4 polish- more for fun than egg production, 2 Delawares, 2 Australorps, 2 Speckled Sussexes. Those last 6 appear to be pretty heavy layers, so they will be the work horses!
