I just joined BYC yesterday, but have been visiting the site religiously since last summer. I got my first chickens in September 2013 and have fallen in love with them. I'm just doing it for the eggs at this point. I'm so excited for you. Chickens are so much fun and totally addictive. You will be so very proud of your girls when they lay their first egg My husband kept telling me to wait to get them, but I finally just jumped in the deep end and got the first of my flock. I'm a few miles north of Destin, FL. It's nice to see someone on here from my area. Perhaps we could swap chicken stories and pointers on feed stores and what-nots once you get your little chickie babies.
