Hi. I'm Kindra. I just joined. I am starting with chickens, and have been trying to learn all that I can. We bought a 4 acre place near Waxhaw, NC, and had a nice big coop built. It's been fun so far. I have hatched some eggs out Black Australorps and Speckled Sussex, and I ordered some new chicks recently. Everything good, minus one mistake I made.. lost two chicks, but the rest good. Learning is tough, when you make mistakes.. I was quick though to correct the issue (too small of a brooder plate for larger order of new babies) two got smothered. They are a week old now though and doing fine.
