My Friend said she is taking them up in Janesville somewhere. Cost was 5.00 per chicken. Chickens only lay for about 2 to 3 years. So if some are older it might be time to have them butchered. Yeah we had ours in a little box I used as a place to grow tomatoes indoors. It didn't work so we took it down and had it in the garage. It was 4'h x 4'l x 2'w we knew it wouldn't be good in the winter. We have a oil filled radiator style heater in our new coop. and on cold days I don't even open the outside door. We have a blood hound that wants to eat my chickens. He got one that had gotten out of it's pen but she protected herself and he ended up scared of her. but he tries to get them all the time. I will find out again from my friend where she has taken her hens.
This is their new pen and coop. We are working on it a little at a time as well. I can't wait to start having enough eggs to sell them. We eat a lot of them tho. The dog Tater is laying in his spot at the gate. His favorite meal is chicken and Root beer.
