Need advice about treating 2 month old chick with lice

I would use diatomaceous earth. Not the white stuff used for pools.

Sprinkle it around the chicks vent and under the feathers on the back.

No...DE has been proven time and time again that it is not effective.

I've always been told otherwise. Have read otherwise on multiple sites as well.
I know it's not an immediate killer. My understanding is that it kills by contact over time.

IF it gets the slightest moisture on it it can't work.
