I have had chickens for 2 years now. I currently have 8 in a coop that was designed for 8-10 chickens. I have 5 Americanas, 2 Rhode Is Reds, and one white. I enjoy collecting the eggs to give to family and friends.

Welcome to BYC - I wish you continued success with your flock. Generally it is better to cover the dirt floor of a coop with litter to keep the eggs and birds cleaner with less contact with their feces.
