I'm sure you have figured out by now that you NEED to get a back of chick starter!! Keep them on that for the first 8 weeks minimum, then you can switch to a grower. Good luck!

Welcome to BYC. Chicks should be on chick starter type feed, not scratch. Scratch does not have enough nutrition for them.

Thank you all for the quick info...They are on an organic chick starter... i misused the term scratch. I really appreciate the quick info...i’d Have had time to quickly change their food to the proper formula for their age. The chicks are just over 2 wks old now and trying out their wings while running. We have one chick that flutters up and sits on top of the water bottle and watches the other chicks from up there. We’re entertaining the idea “Wheezie” might be a rooster. Thoughts?

Cock bird chicks do seem to bolder and more inquisitive than their female cohorts, in my experience.
