Hi, I’m Holly! What am I?

When breeding two birds of different sizes, the offspring can fall anywhere between. With that said, she may not be the brahma mix at all; she has a pea comb and feathered legs, but mum could have donated one of those and dad the other.

The silver birchen appearance does not always denote that she is pure for birchen, or even is birchen at all. A bird which has a copy of extended black and one for wheaten, for example, may well look birchen.
Interesting! All I’ve ever had were hatchery quality heritage birds in the past. I kept 4 out of the dozen chicks. They blew my mind when they started feathering out. They really are pretty!

The one on the far right is definitely a dark brahma rooster on the way! They take a long time to mature but are gentle mostly. The third one from the right is also a dark brahma mix it looks to me. Also a boy! The one in between the two brahmas looks like a light brahma to me. I can't see much of the bird so I could be wrong! (yeah, I often am!) They are all very pretty chickens! ;)

The cockerel on the far right has yellow legs, and the other cockerel has white legs. The pullet in the middle has fluffy cheek muffs and yellow legs, so I think she’s an Ameracauna mix of some sort. I was told by the guy I got the eggs from that dark brahma would likely be the daddy of most, if not all of them.
