Hi, I'm Jaime and I'm very new to chickens

Welcome from California! I, too, am new to raising chickens. I'm pretty sure I'm obsessed. They're the funniest animals that have ever owned me. You've probably heard the saying, "Dogs have masters, but cats have staff". Well, chickens have staff, too. Enjoy!!

I realized as I was getting ready for work, that I kind of forgot the important stuff, like where I am, my family and what not.

I'm from Washington, north of Seattle and I'm 33 years old. I did move to Orange County, CA for about 8 years. Met my husband and we moved back up here a year ago. His kids are still down there, which is hard, but they are getting older so it's easier to communicate with them long distance. We have Jillian who's 12 and Ryan who just turned 15 today. I can't believe how much they've grown. They are great kids. Jillian is excited to meet the chicks.

My husband had about 20 of them when he was a teenager. They had a bunch of farm animals. He's supportive, but he also thinks I'm expecting more out of them then I will get. I still think they will be sweet pets. I got social breeds and I plan on bonding with them. They will like me dang it!!

I'm the exact same way. My family says that my motto should be " Don't just do it, overdo it"
