I was given 3 beautiful hens by my grandkids that moved to Kentucky.# One ,Gwen,is a red laced wyandotte,#Two,Skye, blue laced red wyandotte and Tip,number#three is Australorp.
I've never had chickens, don't know chickens so they are giving me a different perspective on chickens! Luckily I also have other grandkids around here to help .They love the chickens. In fact my grandson has always said his favorite animal is the chicken(of all things.) They give us eggs daily, love tearing up my backyard lawn..hubby build a coop soon...and I am enjoying having them around. And they are kind of nice and friendly,I didn't know chickens are like that. So I'm glad to be here, where I can get answers to any questions that may come up. ..cool. thank you

Chickens are surprisingly fun to be around and have more personality than most people expect. Mine like to tear up my backyard too, so I built a new coop in their own yard away from my garden beds. I was wondering, if you don't have your coop finished yet, where are your hens sleeping at night?

These links have some helpful info to keep in mind now that you're a proud new chicken keeper!
