Hi I'm mike... Im new to the pet chicken and have a few questions.

Corid is a great thing to start with to rules out Coccidiosis after making sure your temp is not too hot in your brooder.
Too hot can kill just as quick as too cold.

My first thought was possibly the brooder is too warm. Can you drill some air holes in the sides? However, if the source of the chicks are also having illness, could just be that... illness. You haven't noticed any symptoms? Just sudden death?
They would be fine and next thing you know I would wake up and one would be dead...
As I said before I have others that are about 5-6 weeks old and doing great.

I would like to find out how much oxine I can use in the cool mist humidifier.

If your friend and you are both experiencing losses I would consider a medicated chick feed for a stronger start. Definitely raise that bulb for cooler conditions I think those tubs hold heat more than one realizes. Also, I brood in my garage. I think household brooding areas hold heat and air exchange is not as good in say a bathroom or a laundry room. Just some thoughts.
