(1) Are you new to chickens? I am new to chickens and am looking for a patient and friendly community to ask questions and to gain knowledge.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? I have 36 chickens... they are all rescues and most are still laying beautiful medium to extra large eggs.
(3) What breeds do you have? Im not sure... kinda a multi-cultural and diverse little flock.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? I love them!!! They are way smarter than I thought they were, and their dynamics are is funny.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Horses, goats, dogs, camping when I have time. Very outdoorsy when possible
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I have 5 grown and married children with 7-and-counting grand kiddos who bring me so much joy!!! I LOVE ANIMALS!!! I have 4 puppies... ranging from a 4 lb. 9 year old yorkie poo... the "alpha male (for real), two golden retrievers ladies and my newest addition is what we are hoping will be our livestock guardian dog when he grows up. He is a 12 week old Great Pyrenees, St. Bernard and Caucasian Mountain Dog cross. A truly sweet and gentle pup that we can't possible see as aggressive to anything, much less chicken predators. But we are losing chickens to the eagles that literally swarm over our little farm.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
. I found BYC multiple times when I was trying to learn about chickens.
