Red Goose is only a few miles from me. I think they only sell Boschveld chickens, which is a mainstream dual chicken hybrid native to SA. They are my fall back plan if I'm not able to find the unique breeds I'm seeking.

are you in the states? I would see if there is a Tractor Supply near you.

also, people will tell you that Rhode Island Reds are "docile", but if I were you, I would go with Plymouth Barred Rocks, Bearded Americanas, Orpingtons, or Australorps.

I'm from California, but I moved to South Africa almost 10 years ago.
