Hoping my local feed store(near Los Angeles) has some chicks to pick up this week to start raising. They said they can only get (rhode islands, barred, and americ)...was hoping to find some rare, more interesting breeds- let me know if any hens are easily available for me soon to add to the family.

If you're looking for rarer breeds, you might want to try your local craigslist to see if anybody is selling some.
 
welcome......if you cant find any on craigslist and depending how invested you want to be in them you may think about hatching some chicks. There are alot of hatching eggs for sale on here.
 
Go to "where am I, where are you," in the social forum to find and post on your state thread. You may find breeders in your area with different chicks available.
