Hi, I'm new :) Wanna see my chickens?

You sound kind of like me. I got into chickens when I was in elementary school (no one else in my family was into them... I was a rather unique child!).

How did you first get started with chickens, and what led you to this particular kind of cochins? I've never seen anything quite like them, but I think they're beautiful.

Don't be surprised if a lot of BYCers start wanting to buy hatching eggs from you.

You can start that college fund early.

Well, I had always been drawn to birds, especially chickens when I was younger, and then my mum decided to order some from our local feedmill, where I got Poppy, a bearded d'uccle/d'anver cross, who really got me into chickens. Then in our order, some cochins were thrown in, and I purchased several (okay, a lot) more from McMurray Hatchery the next year. I'd always been enamored with the beautiful, fluffy cochins at the shows, even though I loved my scraggy little hatchery chickies, so I saved up my cash for the next few years, and bought my first blue mottled pair, with the help of my mum, after stumbling across them on a website, and then bought five more from anotehr breeder months later.

So that's my incredibly long story xD

I wish my birds were laying more, they only just started two days ago, actually, eventually all of them will be laying -hopefully-
