Hi I'm new to raising backyard chickens and we just got 8 babies yesterday. We live in Idaho so we may have to keep babies inside for a while longer then expected. Any tips on this? Also trying to tackle (sticky butt) I believe it's called. Any info is appreciated.

Sectioning off an area or a large sized kiddie pool from somewhere like Dollar General might help them stay inside longer and still have more room ! That worked with mine.. Just make sure they have a heat lamp, clean bedding / water / plenty of food, room, and something to perch on like a cardboard box! Make sure they have their specialized chick starter feed so they can grow with no complications! If you have anymore questions, I am willing to answer!

Keep an eye on the pasty butt, as that can quickly become fatal.

Also check the temperatures in your brooder. Pasty butt can be attributed to too much heat, so chicks should have both a warm area and a cool area in the brooder, so they can move around and adjust their own temperatures that way.
