Hi, I'm new!

I have taken on two Marans (is that's how you spell it) from my sister. They seem happy but have stoped laying since moving to me!

glad you have joined us.

There can be several reasons for hens to stop or interrupt laying. Assuming they were laying before you got them, then likely the stress of the move is the reason. If they seem healthy and are acting normally, then give them a little time.

Good luck with your new flock.

Yes, you spelled it correctly. I wouldn't be concerned at this point about your Marans not laying. Chickens often stop laying for a period of time following a move due to the stress caused by the move, but they should begin laying again after a few weeks to get settled in. I love the chocolate eggs of the Marans. In my personal opinion, they are the prettiest eggs in the chicken world.
