So, I have been following a TON of threads and articles on here as I raise and learn all about my chickens. I never thought I would love them so much! So, here is my introduction. (Sorry about formatting, I tried to cut/copy questions and my phone did weird things lol)

I got my first chickens two Easters ago:T Americaunas, a buff orphington, a Rhode Island red, and a barred rock. One of the Americaunas ended up being a rooster. Last Easter I got what was supposed to be three jersey Giants. I ended up with a jersey giant hen, a jersey giant/Americaunas cross rooster, and a jersey giant/Brahma cross rooster. Then I took in my friends jersey giant, buff orphington, and Americaunas hens. Currently we are at 3 roosters and 8 hens, and I'm working on fattening the flock.

I am a HUGE animal lover. I work as a dog bather at PetSmart and hope to go to grooming school. I am going back to college in August 2020 to finish vet tech degree and then transferring to get a degree in wildlife conservation. Aside from the chickens i have a zoo of other critters. A female pocket pittie, a small male pittie, a pit/mastiff (hes my love), two rescue rabbits, a cat i adopted, 3 big fish tanks with Oscars and convicts, and a cockatoo that i am babysitting. I love them all.

I look forward to getting advice and help from all of you who know so much more than I do about chickens! This is all a learning process for me!!!

Hi there. Welcome to the flock. We're delighted to have you join us. Don't worry; you already fit right in just by liking Cluckers and such. Congrats on your job and all the best to you in your studies.
Animal lover?? A short few Oscars ago, I raised over 100 cichlids and other aquatic tropicals - that "hobby" has turned into over 25 inside tanks - ranging from 50 gal. to mostly 90+ gallons. Outside 14-275 gallon and 6-330 gallon, 3 large swimming pools, several raceways, etc., a dog, a kitten, and 3 shy of all the flocking feathered friends the law will allow. The dermatologist says my allergies and asthmas are against canines, felines, rodents, and aviary. Yes, I'm also learning, yet it's a glorious journey I wouldn't trade for anything.
