hi - injured baby chick

I recently got 3 day old chicks and it is now 1 week later and one of the chicks leg is injured. when we received the chicks thru the mail in a box she came out this way. she is unable to walk on her one leg, i am unable to tell if it is broken. she seems to fall onto her side and uses her wings to move around. the other chicks are bigger than her although she is eating and drinking. Any advice?

She may have a break or dislocation but, there is no way one can tell thru photos etc. You can post her problem on "emergencies, diseases,injuries, cures," thread and see what others suggest. Is it possible you could take her to a vet?

Glad you joined us. I am sorry about your injured chick. Under the emergency tab there have been people putting chicks in hanging like slings to try to heal a bad leg but I honestly don't know if it worked. I had a chick that seemed to be fine in the brooder until I realized I never saw her walking only sitting and then I realized she could not walk but she had placed herself near the food and water. She did not get better, I am sorry to say. I hope your chick gets better.
