Hello there! I'm excited to be apart of the forum... I am a new member as of 4 clucks ago. And a new hen keeper as of 4 months ago... Last week two of my hand successfully hatched 14 baby chicks! We're all very excited everyone is doing well. In the last couple days I have to more girls who have gone broody on me. I've set them up in the maternity ward and found that both of them had eggs that had broken under them and coded the other eggs. I questions are
1. Is it OK to wash the eggs with warm wet rag to take the broken yolk film off of the eggs?
2. I have about a dozen eggs from today's lay from the other girls can I replace those eggs with these?
Thanks so much for your help.!

You can not wash the eggs it will take the protective outer coat off causing the chick to die. But you can exchange the eggs as long as there is not a huge difference in due dates. :) good luck
