I need some answers about my chick. My brother bought a chicken sometime last december 20. More or less my chick is 1-2 months.
The chick is doing fine, until recently, his crop is getting bigger so i just removed the food container and just fed him during meal time, usually with the dry corn/pellets sometimes with rice. So recently, I see his poo/urine is getting white especially during morning which I think because he's thirsty and don't drink in cup, I just let him drink through a spoon.
This morning, after I fed him with food, I let him play in my room, since there's sunlight, he's just standing and running around in the room. After that I left him in a box container with an open lid, he's still small to jump over the box.
When I got home, after 5 I checked up on him, fed him again then let him wonder around. I NOTICED WHEN HE WALKS AFTER SOMETIMES HE'S OUT BALANCED OR SUDDENLY SITS BACK THEN WALKS AGAIN. LIKE SOMETHING IS WRONG WITH HIS LEG. I'M SURE ITS NOT BROKEN..   PLEASE HELP! i dont know what to do!!!!!!!

What breed of chicken is this? And what is it you are feeding it? The proper food for a 1-2 month old chicken is a medicated chick starter. And you want unlimited water. Buy one of the silo style feeders and waterers, available at any feed store and fill them with the medicated chick starter and water. i suspect your problems may be nutrition based.

But also wondering, you have just the one chicken? Do you plan on getting more chickens and building an outside enclosure? Or do you have existing chickens outside already? And the enclosure you have it in, is it just a box? How big is the box? What are you using for bedding?

x2. I agree, most likely a vitamin deficiency, possibly vitamin B. You can get vitamin B complex tablets at a pharmacy, crush a few tablets into powder and sprinkle it on her feed to eat. Hopefully it'll help her get to walking normally again.

Thanks for the reply!!!
yesterday, he was more than fine but today, he seems not moving much and the other leg seems weaker as he falls back after some walking.
The size of the box is twice the size of a shoe box and a taller. I just uselayers of newspapers for bedding.

Please help, im really worried..

You've received some good advice here, you should take it. Have you tried the vitamins? It is very important that you answer the questions that Enchanted Sunrise Farms asked, nobody will be able to help you further without more information.

I really dont know what kind of chicken, when it grows its pure white one. I feed him corn, the crushed into bits type, i do have a cup in the box but i dont think hes drinking from it. I just use spoon for drinking.
I just used vitamin b as they sayand mix it with water so i dont know the effect yet.

Yeah I only have one chicken, city is not really a good place to raise chicken. Yes the bos is double the size of a shoe box and higher in length,.

Yesterday he seems stronger but today he moves slowly and his other leg seems weaker but he is still standing and walking.

Please help and thanks!!

Don't use just flat newspaper for bedding. Either shred the newspaper or use hay, straw. The flat newspaper can be slick and mess up their legs. You might want to get at least one more chick so the first chick has a buddy. Chickens are very social animals. Good luck.

I also want to ask about his poo, recently its white, although not all the time, but mostly during morning.
What ya think?

Okay, the conditions you have him in are not ideal. At 1-2 months, if they are fully feathered, they can be outside if the weather is nice. If not, then you really need a larger pen for him. i think the lack of proper food and cramped conditions are contributing to his leg problems.

And you really, really, really need to be feeding this chicken medicated chick starter - really. Cracked corn is not a healthy diet and that can also be damaging to a growing chick.

Overall, it sounds like this was an impulse buy by your brother, and you are trying to make the best of things. But this chicken's living and nutritional requirements are not being met, and that is causing him a lot of problems, and probably pain and suffering. i would strongly suggest you find him another home, one where he can be with other chickens and cared for properly.

Is your chick still alive? If so,they need water at all times. Get some chick starter also. It has to have more room then something twice the size of a shoe box. Do not use a slick surface for bedding.
