(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I first hatched chicks a few years ago with eggs from my aunt's farm. I finally got my own flock a year ago :)
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
11 hens and 2 roosters = 13 total
(3) What breeds do you have?
Polish, Silkies, Easter Eggers,
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Google! Whenever I had questions about my flock and googled for answers, I noticed the top results were always from BackYardChickens.com.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Gardening, painting, arts & crafts, movies, music, writing
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I'm from New York City, but recently moved out east to Long Island to enjoy living more in sync with nature. I'm learning a lot about self-sustainability and the chickens have been crucial in this effort. Would love to learn more from this group :)

Greetings and welcome to BYC! So glad you joined us. That's a very nice looking flock you have. Thanks for sharing their pic. There's a wealth of info, knowledge and experience shared in the multitude of threads. Browse around and see what interesting stuff you can find. By all means post away when the desire strikes you, especially if you have questions (provide as much detail/info as possible and pictures truly help)... With all the great folks here, generally someone will respond in no time at all. Please make yourself at home!
