Hi new duck mom

She is an adorable khaki Campbell yes. And your set up is so cute like for a puppy. She looks quite happy. I’m wondering why she is wearing a watch around her neck?
Does she need to know what time it is lol L O L O L
Anyway, all joking aside, I’m curious what you’re feeding her as I may be able to provide a little nutritional advice
I see a water bowl, which I’m sure she loves. You will want to make sure it’s deep enough for her to stick her head in to keep her eyes and her nares cleaned.
One thing I see missing is another duck.. if at all possible provide for her a friend duck. Ducks are flock animals. They thrive amongst others of their own kind.
Welcome to BYC!
It’s not a watch lol silly no no it’s a Velcro apple airtag band so she is wearing a AirTag plus I have a qr pet ID tag also on it. In case she ever gets out and someone in my neighborhood finds her she can be returned or scanned and I’ll be notified once that happens it’s just like a cat or dog pet owner information tag to help lost found pets to get back home to there owners. So that is what she has around her neck. It is not tight. She is in no pain. And she is very used to it. It’s water resistant so she can swim in her other pet doggy pool I have for her it’s to cold right now she doesn’t go inside her pool so I have it put up for right now. Yes the bowls I give to her for drinking water are deep enough for her to get her neck all the way wet when she puts her head into it. I am feeding her cracked corn and other duck friendly pet food stuff from my local tractor supply store and (PetSmart is where I bought the pools and pine bedding at). I am not in control of having a 2nd duck and my HOA is not in agreement to wild even domesticated wild animals approving of them. So I am getting by as long as I take care of my ducky and property when she is outside. Which I do very well. Plus I have ocd lol so I’m always cleaning up

Ok great so her food - cracked corn as the main feed is not giving her the nutrition she needs . Look for a duck feed pellets like purina makes one I get the 40 pound bags you might get a smaller bag so it stays fresh because you’ll use it up a lot slower with only one duck. Or an allflock feed is good too. Then She also needs extra calcium in a side dish, you can get crushed oyster shell or flaked oyster shell just leave it there to take as much as she wants. If she’s spending a lot of time inside and not digging in the dirt, then she will also need a bowl of grit, which is actually crushed granite. They sell that also at Feed stores and online such as Amazon.
Ducks need extra niacin as well even a duck feed doesn’t always provide well enough for their niacin needs, so I sprinkle a tablespoon of nutritional yeast onto the food once in a while for an adult duck, (all the time for a duckling)
