Having meat birds did not put me off, but that's probably because my family raised several types of animals for the purpose of slaughter as I was growing up. My pigs will eventually become dinner, and I think if I had wanted meat birds, I'd have really enjoyed the experience. As it was, my brother handled the "dirty work" at the end, and we all had some tasty chicken dinners.
