Hi! I’m a new member here but I’ve been reading post from Backyard Chickens for over two years. I’m a SAHM with 3 kiddos and a big white dog!

We also (currently) have a small Homestead with 29 chickens and 7 ducks (321 hens to be exact!) We also had rabbits until last year when a bear came and wiped them (true story!)

Anyways, I’m here to learn more about chicken husbandry and learn from all you experts out there who have been around the block a time or two ;)

Oh! I should have mentioned what breeds we have. We started with Salmon Faverolles as our original breed and they will be 2 yrs old this June. Then last August we added 8 Cukoo Marans and this spring we added 6 Dominique Hens. We also have a sex link of some kind and a beautiful white silky mix - we hatched her with a broody mama last summer from some eggs from our neighbors. She is very intelligent and a great forager!

I’m hoping to add Black Australorps and Delaware chickens to our flock this summer, but first we have a nasty mite problem to fix!!! I’ll be posting in a thread for help there
