Hi there, I'm from Utah, after a year of begging the wife, and a year of reading books and stuff on the internet, I've got 3 little chickies and I'm pretty happy and excited.

I've got 2 Speckled Sussex, and 1 Welsummer.

Thanks for all the good advice I've found here, this is a good community.

from PA. The Speckled Sussex are supposed to have great personalities. That has been my experience with my roo. How old are your chooks?

They were born on Oct 1st, so a week and a half. This is my first real experience, so I'm learning as I go. What's best for a brooder? I'm using paper towels, but I keep hearing that deep wood shavings is better.
