Hi new to chickens and first hatch, day 20

Marans aren't any harder to hatch in my experience, but I do find them half a day behind in hatching from my regulars (likely due to the large egg size). Also, I didn't see much movement from the eggs until external pip and found it hard to tell what was going on inside the egg aside from watching the air cell grow. You should be good to go with them pipping like this!

Four out of 8 eggs hatched. Maybe two more will hatch. I'll post update pics. These are blue/black/splash marans. We got one splash, two blue, and a black. They're all doing pretty well. This is my very first hatch. This morning, I had to help a chick hatch. It was born in my hand. She was shrink wrapped and I had to use a cuetip with a tiny bit of water and clean the gunk away because the white membrane was dry. All chicks that have hatched are alive and doing well. It's just so cool.

Welldone on your hatch . If you need anymore help feel free to ask .

These are my four healthy Marans chicks. This is a long term goal finally coming to fruition.
I had a total of 8 eggs and 5 hatched but one isn't doing well. I wish I had an oxygen chamber. Think good thoughts for the little fuzz butt... I hope it makes it

Next time I wouldn't wrap the incubator in a towel, that is preventing oxygen from getting in to the incubator and the chicks.
