hi, I'm from Chickamauga, GA and have new chicks, 4-5 weeks old. So far it's a blast, but we have one that is sleeping late in the morning. Hoping she's not sick.

She is usually more active, not as much as some, but she is still eating and drinking.

A change in activity is often one of the first clues of something amiss. Is she developing at the same pace as the others or does she appear behind in size or feathering? How long has she been less active? What are her droppings like? If you pick her up and put her down outside the brooder does she seem alert to the change or does she lay back down and go back to sleep?

She was very alert with nonstop chirping when separated but she seems to be doing well. She has developed at pretty much the same pace as my other 2 coppers. I have an Americauna runt and my other Americauna died. I think they may be the result of poor breeding. Although my little runt is one of the most spunky out of the bunch.
