1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I started out with 6 laying hens 8 years ago, chicken math got me and I ended up with 27 chickens, 20 turkeys and 6 guineas.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I had to scale back and now only have 4 laying hens, and a flock of 33 guineas.
(3) What breeds do you have?
The chickens are red sex links, guineas are pearls
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I get so much enjoyment out of watching my birds. Who doesn’t love fresh eggs!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
crochet and trying to develop a green thumb for growing veggies.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Just me and hubby, we live out in the Canadian country surrounded by acres of woodlands, we also have a barn cat called Kodie-bear. His job is keeping rodents to a minimum, and he does a great job.

I’ve previously been a member for a few years, always found it helpful and informative and friendly
