well I have 58 chickens (buff Orpington, gold sex link, welsummers, barred rock) and 12 turkeys royal Palm and bourbon red. Any other north westerners here

If you go to "where am I, where are you," in the social forum you can locate and post on your state thread. Lots of chicken folks in the great northwest.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. You have a nice mix of breeds. Gold Sex Link is one of a number of labels under which some hatcheries market their Red Sex Links which are egg laying machines. You should get loads of large, brown eggs from that girl. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.

Thank you all I look forward to chatting and maybe we can all learn something's from each other I'm always willing to help if I can

Welcome to BYC!

You have a nice big flock! I'm curious about your Royal Palm Turkeys...are they considered just ornamental or do you use them as meat birds too? They certainly are pretty turkeys. In case you haven't already seen it, there is a forum to "talk turkey" here:

Nice to have you join us!

Well I plan on trying a Tom just to see but a guy in town breeds and eats royal palms says they are tasty. But I'll let everyone know how it comes out. I look forward to eating 1 of the bourbon reds I haven't had that since I lived in Tennessee
