Hi to All! ...I've been off and on this site for the past year and have found some pretty good information so it's probably long overdue to say Hey! I'm Gigi from Illinois. Hubby and I have homebirthed, homeschooled & mostly raised our 6 wonderful children.marking our 30 year anniversary just this weekend! We've had chickens off and on 26 years now...and currently have a flock of 10..watching the children interacting with the hens was such fun and they have learned so much.by helping out. and Now its the grandkiddos turn. :j Looking into building an Incubator for them asap...I, personally, am into all things natural, herbs ,soaps, the Bible and a heavy dose of conspiracy theories (truth :)

Hey @Gigi'z '64 FC500 and :welcome

I am so happy you joined us here at BYC! You definitely are no newbie to chickens! Oh well, we love :love our chicken "elders" around here :old:lau

Anyway, I think you should check out our "Find Your State Thread". That way you can connect with chicken owners like yourself in your area!

Have a safe and happy holiday season!!!

G’Day from down under Gigi :frow Welcome and congratulations on your anniversary!

I do hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun.

If you would like to share pictures and stories of your flock, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out :p

Welcome! Glad to have you with us. There is a Prayer Warrior's thread. There is also a homesteader's thread. also quite a few gardening threads. My #1 child was born at home 38 years ago! #2 would have also been a home birth, but she chose to come a bit early, when my doc was out of town.

Check out Rush Lane Poultry. He has some great videos on building your own incubator, with instructions for wiring various types of thermostats. Incubator builds are great family projects.

You might want to put your general location in your profile. It will help folks to give pertinent communication.
