Hi I'm just starting to research chick's and what type would work best for me I have 3 acres of wooded yards with an acre clear. Would i be ok with free range chickens. I don't see predators as I have dogs and cats..

Hi, and welcome to BYC!

If your looking for good breeds, I would recommend orphingtons or bantams. They are sweet breeds, and lay very well.

You should be good with 3 acres and the right conditions.

Be careful with your dogs. Most dogs see chickens as a meal, so you will need to work with yours.
