my name is Sam and even though I only have one chicken at the moment, (also have a hubby and 2 jack russell's) I do hope to get more when we move in a few months, so will be asking lots of questions and hope to tap into the knowledge that is within this forum. Look forward to chatting.

Do you plan to get more chicks or adult hens? Do you have a coop planned out for your new place? I would think it would be much easier to add chicks and your older girl might enjoy "partially" raising them or at least showing them the ropes. Introducing larger birds could possibly be more stressful and she'll end up being the odd one out.
