You will definitely find a ton of information here.
What kind of coop did your son buy you? Do you know what breed(s) of chickens you want and how many?

A friend of my son's built a coop. It is super sturdy and weighs about 1000 lbs! I plan on starting with six chickens and the only breed I'm familiar with are Australorps. My son had six and they were heavy layers. Good tempered too.
